Coaching for Success

I attended a conference last week and in one of the workshops on Coaching and Mentoring, not one member of the audience admitted to working with an external coach (except for me of course!). I’m not sure if this was due to fear of putting your hand up in public or whether this was genuine, but it got me thinking about whether coaching has sufficient profile in the workplace as a tool to improve skills and results.

Coaching - either as a standalone offering or combined with other development provides a flexible, responsive approach which can be tailored to the needs of individuals, teams and organisations

The benefits of coaching include improvements in managerial skills, problem solving and relationships with colleagues, plus increased confidence and adaptability to change. Organisations can also benefit through improved productivity, quality and customer service as well as increased employee engagement.

Individuals can take more control over career moves, manage change more effectively and achieve more fulfilment in working life.
